? India on Monday became the fourth country after the United States, Russia and China to develop and successfully test hypersonic technology from APJ Abdul Kalam testing range (Wheeler Island) in Balasore, Odisha. This indigenous technology will pave the way towards development of missiles travelling at six times the speed of sound (Mach 6).

? Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu has released “The State of Young Child in India” report. The report was prepared by a policy advocacy organization, Mobile Creches. The report measured Health and Nutrition in the country.

? Vodafone Idea Ltd. has rebranded itself as ‘Vi’, read as ‘we’, nearly two years after the two telecom operators merged as a result of a brutal tariff war effected by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.

? The United States President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize because of his efforts on brokering the historic Israel-UAE Peace Deal.

? International Literacy Day is observed annually on September 8 across the world.

? The last phase of clinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca has been put on hold after one of the participants fell ill in the United Kingdom. AstraZeneca described the pause as a “routine” pause in the case of “an unexplained illness”.
