? The 5th BRICS Culture Ministers’ Meeting was held through a video conference under the Chairpersonship of Russian Federation. The delegates from Culture Ministries of the BRICS nations – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – participated in the meeting.

? International Day of Charity is celebrated on September 5 every year. As per UN’s website “charity can alleviate the worst effects of humanitarian crises, supplement public services in health care, education, housing and child protection. It assists the advancement of culture, science, sports, and the protection of cultural and natural heritage.”

Punjab government has rolled out “I Rakhwali” App to ensure greenery and to protect the   environment in Punjab. The development of app is state governments’ effort to supplement its drive to preserve and maintain the environment in Punjab and to make people stakeholders in the process.

? Private life insurer Bajaj Allianz Life, on Monday announced the appointment of Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana as its brand ambassador to promote its products and digital services across offline and online mediums.

? Teachers’ Day is celebrated across the country to honour the teachers for the contribution in everyone’s life to make them grow in life and shaping their future. In India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5 every year.

Union Minister of Education has launched a free mobile app named as “EnglishPro“. The mobile application has been developed by the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad under University Social Responsibility (USR). This app will be “a useful digital tool” and will act as an educational resource for the teachers, students and for people from varied backgrounds.

It summarises the evidence around what nudges work best while seeking to encourage more sustainable practices among students and staff across several behavioural categories.

? India has been ranked at the 48th position in the Global Innovation Index 2020 released by World Intellectual Property Organisation.
