? The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CSC e-Governance Services India to facilitate delivery of UMANG app services through Common Service Centres (CSCs) in an assisted mode. With this MoU in place, the services on UMANG app will be available to citizens through the network of 3.75 lakh CSCs, an official release said.

? A book named ‘Cricket Drona’ on one of India’s most respected cricket coaches, Vasoo Paranjape, will be released on September 2.

? World Water Week is the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues. It is organized by SIWI. In 2020, the World Water Week (WWWeek at Home) theme will be “Water and Climate Change: Accelerating Action.”

? President of India Ram Nath Kovind will confer the National Sports Awards 2020 through a virtual mode for the first-ever time on August 29, 2020. The President will be attending the awards ceremony through the NIC link from the President’s house, while all the award recipients will be attending the ceremony from various SAI and NIC centres across the country.

? The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana completed six years on August 28, 2020. The scheme was launched with an ambitious aim of banking the unbanked. The key features of the scheme included the opening of basic saving bank deposit account with relaxed KYC, zero balance and zero charges and the issuance of debit cards.

? The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) launched a new forum on Artificial Intelligence which will be chaired by the Managing Director IBM India and South Asia, Sandip Patel.

? Axis Bank has launched a new savings account called the “Axis Liberty Savings Account” to target the millennial customers.
