? World Hepatitis Day is observed on July 28.

? The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) has been renamed as Ministry of Education. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

? The first five Rafale aircraft took off from France on July 27, 2020. The aircraft are being flown to India in two stages. They had a stopover at Al Dhafra airbase in the UAE after a sortie of over seven hours. The jets are scheduled to reach Ambala in India on July 29.

? The International Tiger Day was observed on July 29, 2002. The day is celebrated every year across the globe to create awareness regarding tiger conservation.

? The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on July 29 announced that it has approved USD 3 million grant to India from its Asia Pacific Disaster Respond Fund. The bank has provided the grant to support India’s emergency response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

? West Bengal has decided to extend state-wide lockdown (2 days in a week) till August 31, 2020. The announcement was made by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

? Russia’s first potential COVID-19 vaccine is likely to get local regulatory approval in the first half of August. The vaccine is expected to be first administered to frontline health workers.

? Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launches India Report on Digital Education 2020.

? Bombay Flying Club becomes country’s first DGCA-approved drone training school.

? The Chhattisgarh state government has decided to extend the lockdown till August 6, 2020 in hotspot areas after witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases.

? Delhi government has launched the portal named as “Rozgar Bazar”, a sort of marketplace for job seekers and the people recruiters.

? A book titled “The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World” is authored by the Minister of External Affairs in the Government of India, S Jaishankar.

? India and the United Kingdom have decided to further extend their existing scientific research collaboration with five new projects that are worth eight million pounds.

? Walmart-owned Flipkart has launched a hyperlocal 90-minute delivery service called Flipkart Quick in Bengaluru for various categories of products including grocery, home accessories, electronics and mobiles.

? Haryana will host the 4th Khelo India Youth Games in 2021. This was announced by Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar through video conferencing on July 26, 2020.
