? The United Nations has honoured Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja by inviting her on panel discussion on World Public Service Day, which was on June 23, 2020. She was the honored speaker from India to speak about the strategies that were adopted by the state to combat the pandemic.

? J&K: Devika and Puneja Bridges inaugurated in Udhampur & Doda districts respectively by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh.

? The Union Cabinet meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24 has approved the declaration of Kushinagar airport in Uttar Pradesh as an International airport.

? RBI to get more powers to supervise urban cooperative banks and multi-state cooperative banks.

? Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) plans to establish a permanent military base in the Indian Ocean by March 2021. This was announced by IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri.

? Republic of Mali awards Project Management Consultancy contract to NTPC for development of 500 MW Solar Park.

? The state government of West Bengal has decided to extend the ongoing lockdown in the state till July 31, 2020. The announcement was made by WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after an all-party meeting convened on June 24, 2020 to discuss the COVID situation in the state.

? India’s GDP growth forecast for 2020-21 at –4.5%, 6% in 2021-22: IMF’s World Economic Outlook report.

? Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyan on June 26, 2020 through video conference. The UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other Ministers of the state will also be present at the virtual launch.

? Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attends 75th Victory Day Parade in Moscow’s Red Square.

? Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on June 25, 2020 launched the eBlood Services Mobile Application. The application is an initiative of the Indian Red Cross Society, which is dedicated to the fight against COVID-19.

? Google adds ‘Fact-Checked’ labels for search images to limit misinformation.

? Justice Rohini Commission set up to examine the issue of the Sub-categorization of Other Backward Classes has gotten its ninth extension for six months till January 31, 2021. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the extension of the term of the commission.

? The US stated in its recent report that Pakistan continues to be a safe harbor for regionally focused terrorist groups. This was reported in the annual Country Report on Terrorism by the US State Department. The report stated that Pakistan continues to allow terror groups such as Lashkar e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) to operate from its territory and target India.
