? Jharkhand state cabinet on July 22, 2020 approved the Jharkhand Contagious Disease Ordinance 2020, under which violations of COVID-19 protocols such as not wearing masks will invite jail term up to 2 years and fine of up to Rs 1 lakh.

? HRD Ministry conducts 1st Indian Scholastic Assessment (Ind-SAT) Test 2020 under its Study in India programme; close to 5000 foreign students appeared.

? The United States is planning to launch its Mars Rover next week, becoming the third nation to launch a space probe to Mars in July after the UAE and China. NASA will be launching its Mars Perseverance rover next week. All three missions are planning to reach Mars orbit by February 2021.

? National Broadcasting Day observed on July 23. India’s first radio broadcast was from Bombay Station under the Indian Broadcasting Company on July 23, 1927.

? Pakistan’s Punjab government has banned over 100 textbooks for having “blasphemous and objectionable content” such as not showing Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of the country.

? First-ever container cargo from Kolkata via Bangladesh port reaches Agartala: MEA.

? The much-awaited Indian Premier League has been rescheduled for September 19, 2020 in the United Arab Emirates. The final will be held on November 8, 2020. This was confirmed by IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel on July 24.
