? Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

? Parliament passed The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020.

? The first volume of former US President Barack Obama’s long-awaited memoir will be released in November after the US Election. Taking to Twitter, he announced that the book titled “A Promised Land,” will be available on November 17, two weeks after Election Day.

? A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of AYUSH and Ministry of Women and Child Development in New Delhi for controlling Malnutrition as a part of POSHAN Abhiyaan.

? The International Coastal Cleanup Day is traditionally held on the third Saturday in September. In 2020, the day is being held on 19 September. Theme 2020: “Achieving a trash free Coastline “ The first International Coastal Cleanup Day was observed in 1986.

? India and Bangladesh have agreed to resume the joint coordinated border patrolling to reduce criminal activities like smuggling of cattle, weapons and narcotics on the border.

? India has been ranked at the 116th position in the latest edition of the World Bank’s annual Human Capital Index that benchmarks key components of human capital  across countries. However, India’s score increased to 0.49 from 0.44 in 2018, as per the  Human Capital Index report released by the World Bank on Wednesday.

? HCL Technologies will acquire Australian IT solutions firm DWS Ltd, a move that will help the Indian company strengthen its position in the Australia and New Zealand market.
