? Urjit Patel has been appointed as the Chairman of the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), an economic think tank which is based in New Delhi, India.

? PM launched the ‘Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyaan’ employment scheme for migrant workers from six states who returned to their home states during the coronavirus-induced lockdown. ‘Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyaan’ will involve implementation of 25 public infrastructure works related to rural housing, drinking water supply and construction of panchayat bhavans.

? India will serve as the President of the UN body for the month of August, 2021.
