? Aishwarya Sridhar, a wildlife photographer from Maharashtra, won the ‘Highly Commended’ award at the Wildlife Photography of the Year 2020. The 23-year old’s photo titled Lights of Passion was chosen among 50,000 entries from over 80 countries worldwide. She also became the first Indian to win the coveted award.

? India on Friday successfully conducted a night trial of the indigenously developed nuclear-capable Prithvi-2 missile as part of a user trial by the Army from a test range in Odisha, defence sources said.

? The Member of Parliament and author Shashi Tharoor has announced his new book titled “The Battle of Belonging: On Nationalism, Patriotism And What It Means To Be Indian”. 

? Advocate Rohan Jaitley, son of late Union Minister Arun Jaitley, was on Saturday elected unopposed president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) after the lone candidate who had filed his nomination against him withdrew his candidature.

? “BRAHMOS, the supersonic cruise missile was successfully test fired on 18th October 2020 from Indian Navy”s indigenouslybuilt stealth destroyer INS Chennaihitting a target in the Arabian Sea. The missile hit the target successfully with pin-point accuracy,” the DRDO said in a tweet.

? The Sports Ministry has upgraded centres from a total of nine States and Union Territories to the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE) under the Khelo India scheme.
