? Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Friday was assigned the additional charge of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He was given the additional charge following the death of Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) founder and union minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

? World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.

? World Migratory Bird Day is observed globally on 9 May or 10th October. The Day will celebrate the biannual migration.

? Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries (RIL), on Thursday emerged as India’s wealthiest for the 13th straight year as his net worth swelled to $88.7 billion (around Rs 6.65 lakh crore) while the wealth of 100 richest rose by 14 per cent to $517.5 billion despite the coronavirus outbreak, according to Forbes.

? A New Generation Anti Radiation Missile (NGARM), RudraM-I, was successfully flight-tested on Friday by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This is the first indigenous anti-radiation missile of the country.

? In India, the National Postal Day is celebrated annually on 10 October, as an extension of World Post Day, which is celebrated on 9 October. The Day aims to commemorate the role played by the Indian postal department for the past 150 years, which was founded in 1854 by Lord Dalhousie.
